Life Transitions

I have an affinity for working with clients as they navigate various life transitions. We all go through multiple stages of our lives, whether they be teenage years, late adolescence, early adulthood, middle age, and late adulthood. In working with teens and young adults, I can help you learn how to discover your authentic self and voice in a world that often feels like it is moving far too fast. While the new level of autonomy and freedom can be seen as a great blessing, it can also cause a great amount of anxiety and confusion, a pressure to arrive at an answer and direction filled with familial and social obligation and expectation. In our work together we will help discover your authentic and assertive self, one that doesn’t need to avoid or react with anger when confused or challenged.

Our priorities and needs take on many significant changes throughout our lives, including the significant transition to becoming parents (or very importantly not becoming parents), for parents moving to empty-nesters, transitioning to supporting our parents or other elderly caregivers, and then our experience of being an elder in the world that we’ve lived in throughout our lives. Throughout each of these stages, we get to see how we are constantly evolving and adapting to the world around us, to how we experience the world and how the world experiences us. It can be a challenging adjustment and one of great opportunity. In my work with individuals and couples, I will help you rediscover a deep connection to yourself and each other, contextualize the lives led and when necessary grieve what was lost or sacrificed.
